Our Christian Distinctiveness

I Know Who I Am

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Psalm 139:14

Our Christian vision and values are at our core and underpin life at Macaulay.

Our Vision

At Macaulay we are an inspirational, nurturing and inclusive community, celebrating each child as uniquely created by God.

We foster independence, curiosity and creativity so that every child may flourish and fulfil their potential to live with purpose and confidently contribute to their communities.

Every child. Uniquely made.

We are an inspirational, nurturing and inclusive community where every child is celebrated as uniquely created by God.

We believe that every child has gifts, talents and potential waiting to be discovered. Through rich experiences, relationships and a culture of curiosity and creativity, we encourage children to grow in confidence, develop independence and discover the joy of learning.

Our seven words capture the journey we want every child to experience:

INSPIRE
NURTURE
INCLUDE
INDEPENDENCE
CURIOSITY
CREATIVITY
FLOURISH

We want every child to leave us knowing:

Who I am.
Why I matter.
What I can become.
How I can make a difference.

Our Christian vision is rooted in the belief that each child is wonderfully made and has a unique contribution to make.

We create a community where every child feels known, valued and loved, where they are encouraged to discover their gifts and develop their potential, and where they are equipped to live with purpose and confidently contribute to their communities and the wider world.

Our School Prayer

Dear God,

You made me as I am,

My smile, my voice, my plan.

You shaped my heart, both brave and true,

I know I’m wonderfully made by You.

Help me to shine Your light each day,

And show Your love in all I say.

Amen.

[Macaulay holds] collective worship that strongly promotes and brings to life the school’s Christian values; that is relevant in today’s world and inspires pupils to believe in themselves and know they are special.

SIAMS Report, 2019

SIAMS Reports

Our distinctiveness and effectiveness as a Church of England school is inspected every 5 years with a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report. Our most recent report was July 2019, when we achieved the highest grade of 'Excellent'. Prior to that inspection, we were awarded the highest grade of 'Outstanding' in July 2014.

The reports are a testament to the strong and committed community of staff, parents, governors and children that make up Macaulay.
