How to Get Involved in Macaulay's PTA Events
- Come to our 'Welcome back BBQ’ – after school on 20th September (3.15 – 5pm)
- Sign up to your class What’s App group. Ask another parent at drop-off or pick-up to add you to the group. These groups are essential for keeping up to date on what’s going on at school.
- Try out the PTA. Our first meeting for 2024-25 is on 4th October with a kid’s movie night running in parallel! Snacks and drinks will be provided and there's no commitment necessary.
Fundraising Update
The PTA’s mission is to support our school and its pupils by organising fun events like the winter and summer fairs, and raising funds to improve our pupils' experience.
In prior years, the PTA raised £5,000 to purchase iPads, which are used in all of the Macaulay classrooms. This year the PTA is continuing to raise funds to refurbish the lower playground.
Phase 1 of the playground requires approximately £20,000, with the project in total requiring £100,000. We are looking into external funding sources, including grants, but will need to raise a significant amount of this funding ourselves.
Please join us at any of the upcoming PTA meetings (many are via Zoom so it’s easy to attend). You may be surprised that helping out does not need to be a big commitment – even taking the lead at one event can make a significant difference. Highlights from 2023-24
The PTA run two major social events each year, the summer and winter fairs, in addition to the now famous ‘Macaulay Friday socials’, which are led by individual class groups. In addition to raising funds, these events provide a wonderful environment for the children and parents to socialise and mingle over food and drinks. The success of these events is dependent on parents stepping up to run them and we are grateful to have had such great participation from so many people last year.
Other activities have ranged from Christmas tree sales, to pub quizzes to school discos, and we are happy to support anyone who wants to contribute their unique skills and talents towards further enriching the Macaulay community.
